Everything about how Social Vipers works, what our estimates mean, how we handle data, and the terms that apply when you use the site.
1. Calculator methodology
Every estimate on Social Vipers uses the same underlying formula:
Estimated Revenue (USD) = (Views ÷ 1000) × Base CPM × Content Type Factor × Niche Factor × Region Factor
The result is then converted from USD into your selected currency using a live exchange-rate feed where available, or a fixed reference rate if that feed cannot be reached.
The Base CPM is a broad, publicly-discussed approximate rate per 1,000 views for each platform's standard content format. It is not sourced from any platform's private data and does not represent a guaranteed or average payout for any individual account.
2. Content type, region, niche & currency factors
Content type
Different formats monetise differently. For example, short-form formats such as YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels and TikTok videos typically generate lower revenue per view than long-form video, while live content can benefit from tipping, gifting and higher engagement.
Region viewed
Advertiser demand is not uniform worldwide. Views originating from markets such as North America, the United Kingdom and Australia typically carry a higher advertising value than views from lower-CPM regions. Our region factor reflects this general pattern, not a precise country-by-country rate card.
Niche
Advertisers pay more to reach audiences they consider high intent or high value — commonly finance, technology and business content — while broad entertainment content usually sits closer to the platform baseline.
Currency
Your result is shown in the currency you choose, converted from the USD estimate so the number reflects roughly what a payout in that currency could look like.
3. Estimate disclaimer
Social Vipers is an independent, unofficial estimation tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to YouTube, Google LLC, Meta Platforms (Instagram and Facebook), or TikTok / ByteDance. All product names, logos and brands referenced are the property of their respective owners and are used for identification purposes only.
- Figures produced by the calculator are estimates for informational and entertainment purposes only.
- They do not constitute financial, investment, tax or business advice, and should not be relied upon when making financial decisions.
- Actual earnings depend on factors we cannot model, including platform-specific algorithm changes, advertiser budgets at the time of viewing, audience demographics and device mix, seasonality, ad-blocker usage, sponsorships and brand deals, and each platform's own monetisation eligibility rules.
- Social Vipers accepts no liability for decisions made based on figures produced by this calculator.
4. Terms of use
- Social Vipers is provided free of charge, "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
- You may use the calculator for personal, educational or business research purposes. You may not scrape, resell, or misrepresent our estimates as official platform data.
- We may update the underlying rate assumptions, factors, or currencies supported at any time as market conditions change, without prior notice.
- We are not responsible for the availability or accuracy of third-party services we rely on, including exchange-rate providers.
- Continued use of the site after changes to these rules constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
- These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
5. Privacy & the visit counter
Social Vipers is built to collect as little data as possible:
- The numbers you enter into the calculator (views, content type, niche, region, currency) are processed entirely in your browser — they are not sent to or stored on our servers.
- The site displays a visit counter in the footer. This counts page loads using a third-party keyless counting service so we can see approximate traffic; it does not identify individual visitors.
- We do not use the calculator to build advertising profiles, sell data, or track you across other websites.
- If a page on this site ever integrates analytics or cookies beyond the visit counter, we will disclose that here.
6. Advertising on Social Vipers
